Fishing
The fishing at Otter Lake is second to none. Whether a little angler or a seasoned pro, the lake offers something for everyone. The most common catch is small mouth bass and sizable fish are often caught right off the dock. Sportsmen are often distracted by aggressive northern pike, large mouth bass, natural and stocked lake trout (splake) as well as an abundance of rock bass, sunfish and perch for young fishermen. There are lots of bait and tackle stores in the nearby communities of Smiths Falls, Portland and Westport where you can find your favourite lure. For the more serious fisherman we are also only a 10 minute drive from Portland, your access to the Big Rideau and the wonders of the Rideau Canal waterway.
